Reina

What changed, and when.

Every release, written in sentences rather than commit messages. Reina shows this same list on its Updates screen before an update installs. It is the same file, so the two cannot disagree.

1.0.3 Walking, jogging, running, and looking after you

  • Reina now walks, power walks, jogs, runs and sprints as the speed slider rises, each at its natural pace, with the gaits marked on the slider.
  • If Reina believes you may be in crisis, Reina sets the character aside, talks with you plainly, and shows ways to reach a real person. Jokes and game talk are left alone. See sovereignty.cc/safety.
  • A small note under the message box reminds you that Reina is an AI and can make mistakes.
  • Search now sits at the top of the menu. Pick a result and Reina opens the page and highlights the setting for a moment.
  • A small dot marks any setting you have changed, with an arrow beside it to put it back to its default.
  • Every slider follows your hand as you drag, including the theme and wallpaper ones.
  • Hover a chat message to edit or remove it. It only changes what you see on screen.
  • Reina's speech bubble clears when you clear the chat, stop Reina, or remove the message it shows.
  • Before Reina writes or rewrites a persona for you, Reina tells you roughly how much usage it takes. You can turn the question off.
  • Reina's feet stay planted while carrying something across your desktop, and resizing Reina settles faster.
  • A round of security and reliability fixes, including safer handling of your memory file and of confirmations.

1.0.2 A new home, and a lot more to say

  • Reina's window is rebuilt from the ground up in her own style, with her portrait, mood and speech bubble beside the chat, and a tea-service loading screen.
  • Pick a wallpaper, including animated ones, or use your own. Themes now include gradients, a Black theme and your own text color.
  • Search every setting with Ctrl+K. Settings stay tucked away until you open them.
  • Click Reina for a quick menu of the common switches. Click-through mode and an opacity slider keep her out of your way.
  • While Reina is answering, the Send button becomes Stop, so you can cut a long reply short.
  • Usage shows as a share of your month instead of money.
  • Credits lists the people and projects Reina is built on.
  • Reina can read a PDF you point at, or a page you link, even with no browser extension installed. A long document goes across as text, a form goes as pages.
  • Commentary waits for a gap in the conversation instead of talking over you, and an hour of film costs about a third of what it used to.
  • When a game has been doing the same thing for a while, Reina remarks on the stretch rather than the moment, and can stay quiet instead.
  • Expressions only appear when something causes them, so Reina's face is calmer and means more when it does change.
  • Throw Reina at the top of the screen and the window maximizes, the way anything else does.
  • Reina opens on the monitor you left it on, loading screen included.
  • The loading screen is new, and tells you how large an update was.
  • The setup wizard is redrawn in Reina's own style, start to finish.
  • In the Persona Studio the list is now the picker, and an imported personality keeps its author's wording and says what it costs.
  • Private thoughts stay in the Thinking view instead of being read aloud.
  • Reina now arrives knowing a short list of standing rules about how to behave, rather than having to learn all of them from you.
  • Voice lines always come from the same model now, so the personality does not drift partway through a conversation.
  • With the local voice on, Reina no longer says the same line over and over. A reply that repeats an earlier one is handed to the online voice instead.
  • Commentary no longer repeats something Reina just said in chat, and no longer reads the game's screen back to you word for word.
  • Commentary no longer speaks stage directions such as smirks or smiles out loud.
  • The session log no longer records your username or Reina's internals, and a support report carries less about your machine.
  • The Skills page is open to everyone, and Reina ships with 17 skills. New ones fix low FPS and stutter, look up counters and builds for the current patch, run a focus session, tidy a folder, explain what is on your screen, weigh whether a game is worth buying, convert mouse sensitivity between games, and build spreadsheets.
  • Reina can tidy a folder you allow by moving files into place. It never overwrites or deletes anything, and asks you once before any move, naming every folder involved.
  • Closing the window can send Reina to the tray instead of quitting, and minimizing keeps Reina on the taskbar like any other app. A new key, unbound until you set one, sends Reina to the tray and back.
  • The window resizes from every edge and corner and snaps like any other app.
  • Commentary reads the game more often, knows about the queue and the map vote, calls other players by their hero rather than their username, and no longer goes quiet for minutes at a time.
  • Commentary gets health, kill streaks, victories, stuns and map names right, and when you correct the name of the hero you are playing, Reina stops using the wrong one.
  • Ask Reina to pull up patch notes and the notes open, instead of the game's launcher.
  • Playful Tease roasts the way it was meant to, Yandere is complete, and each has its own portrait.
  • Poking or picking up Reina gets a voice and a reaction again, and speech bubbles never show stage directions.
  • Reina says an action is done only once it is actually done.
  • The Memory page shows what Reina remembers even while Reina is stopped, and Reina's memory and its backups are encrypted whenever you quit.
  • Every setting does what it says, no keybind comes bound out of the box, and Escape, Backspace or Delete clears one.
  • The browser extension no longer relaunches Reina every few seconds.
  • Reina's sense of when you have finished talking works in the installed app, not only in development.

1.0.1 New voices

  • Kokoro, a second local voice that sounds more natural than the built-in one, is a free download in the Modules tab. Once it is installed, pick Kokoro under Voice in Settings.
  • Reina can now speak with an OpenAI or Fish Audio voice on your own API key, alongside ElevenLabs.
  • The built-in voice starts speaking about a second and a half sooner.
  • Voice API keys are stored encrypted on your device and never appear in a support report.
  • The privacy policy now describes the new voices, so Reina asks you to accept it once more.

1.0.0 Reina 1.0

  • The first release. Reina lives on your desktop, talks with you, and can use your computer when you ask.
  • The avatar, text to speech and the Persona Studio run on your own machine, with no account.
  • Cloud features need a subscription, or your own API keys on the bring-your-own-key plan.
  • Unused monthly budget carries over for a full calendar month, up to one month of your plan.
  • Settings can buy usage credit under Account.

Reina checks for updates on its own and never installs one without asking. It tells you the version and the size first, keeps the previous version so you can go back, and can show these notes the first time it opens on a new one.
